Company Information Receptions
Company information receptions provide you with the opportunity to introduce your organization and career opportunities to W. P. Carey MBA students. Most information receptions will be held in the Memorial Union.
Key Facts About Information Receptions at the W. P. Carey School of Business
- Receptions are held Monday-Thursday at 5:30 PM or 7:00 PM.
- Reception arrangements including location, catering and audio visual needs are coordinated by the Career Management Center.
- Your room will be available for set up one-half hour before your presentation.
- Validated parking will be reserved in Visitor Parking Structure 1.
- You will have a CMC Host who will greet you and assist you with setting up.
- Your reception will be advertised to students via our online eRecruiting system.
- The CMC will gather RSVPs from students and provide you with a list of students planning to attend your event.
Tips for Maximizing Your Information Reception's Effectiveness
- Host your information session at least three weeks before your interview date.
- Keep your presentation to a maximum of one and a half hours, using one hour for a formal presentation and additional time for Q&A and networking.
- Present key information about your company and industry.
- Discuss career opportunities available including whether you are seeking interns or full time employees, as well as your recruiting criteria such as specialization and skills desired.
- Direct mail students who you want to personally invite or meet at the event.
- Provide the CMC with a poster or flyer to promote the event. We will post it in our MBA lounge and the CMC.
