Charles Schwab Foundation Financial Access and Research Lab

With generous support from the Charles Schwab Foundation and Schwab Advisor Services, the Charles Schwab Foundation Financial Access and Research (FAR) Lab was established to expand access to state-of-the-art financial tools and learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate finance students.

Enabling access to advanced finance tools

The FAR Lab enables finance students and others in the ASU community to gain hands-on experience with innovative financial services technology that industry professionals use daily. Students learn to analyze best-in-class datasets and market information via Bloomberg Terminals to make informed decisions.

This well-equipped lab space brings classroom concepts to life and supports the Department of Finance's experiential learning opportunities. For example, it provides timely and relevant information to student asset managers involved in the Undergraduate Investment FundREIT Portfolio Practicum, or MBA Investment Fund.

Empowering aspiring financial leaders

A major goal of the FAR Lab is to create opportunities for students already interested in finance careers and spark interest in those without a finance background. This immersive lab gives students access to industry resources and experiences, helping students better understand what skills are required by the financial services sector.

We empower the next generation to succeed in wide-ranging careers in finance, including banking, asset management, advisory, and corporate finance functions. By training students to become changemakers in the financial services industry, we build a talent pipeline that shapes our industry's future and positively impacts our communities.
